Even though entrepreneurs come across as a very organized bunch of individuals, there are quite a few out there who turn out to be quite forgetful. Forgetfulness when setting up a business can be forgiven, though, as there is a lot that needs to be done. It’s understandable that a small job may slip your mind for a day or two. However, there are some larger tasks and responsibilities that can often go forgotten for too long. Here is a concise list of all the things that entrepreneurs should endeavor never to forget.

Devising An Exit Plan

Lots of entrepreneurs spend a very long time writing up their business plan. This will outline what needs to be done in order for the company to be brought into existence. It should also outline some goals and targets that it needs to aim towards over the course of the first year or two. However, one thing that some new business owners forget to write up is an exit plan. Even though you might not be planning on leaving the business anytime soon, it’s still important to put this plan into place so that there are some steps processes to follow to ensure your departure is all above board.

Sleeping

There can be a lot to do when creating a new business. In fact, many new business owners regularly end up working extremely long days, and often clock in at around twelve hours work. You might struggle to fit a regular social life around this. But that is no excuse to forfeit your sleep. You should always try to get at least seven hours of sleep at night so that your mind and body can destress. Ideally, you need to prioritize your sleep over work no matter how busy you may be.

Outsourcing

If you do feel like the amount of work you need to do creeps up on you, it’s worth outsourcing some of the more admin-based tasks. It’s also a good idea to outsource systems integration and any other tech tasks that might require a bit of experience and expert knowledge. Don’t see outsourcing as an unnecessary cost – remember that you can always deduct it from your taxes, and getting the extra pair of hands to help you out will also save you from burnout.

Their Own Education

When you start to hire full-time employees, you will need to offer them plenty of training opportunities. But don’t forget about your own training and education. Even though you are the boss, there will still be plenty of things to learn and improve on. Not only is taking time out to train a benefit to you and your business, but it will also encourage your employees to take their own training seriously. They will be spurred on by the good example that you set them.

It’s perfectly fine to forget the odd small job, but if you forget about any of the above, then you might start to notice your company suffers as a result.
