I’ve just been at a very pretty product launch at Fonda in Bondi Beach, for a new brand of skin specific, TGA approved, supplements called Beauty Boosters.
The event theme echoed the colours of the product packaging and captivated all the beauty mavens in attendance. There were cascading garlands of huge yellow and peach toned roses, peach and white chrysanthemums and the quirky, round yellow craspedia blooms.
The food was incredible, the drinks innovative, the other women at the event really welcoming and friendly. It’s always a little intimidating to go to an event alone, but this group of women were really friendly and it was wonderful to be included in a group of equally beauty addicted people. The launch left me with a very warm and fuzzy feeling about both Sweaty Betty PR and Beauty Boosters. I have to say Roxy Jacenko and her hardworking team sure know how to seduce a lady to fall in love with a product!
The gorgeous decorating and incredible food aside, there was an introduction and endorsement from the inspirational health and fitness blogger Sally O’Neill. Sally is a self-confessed over sharer on Instagram, and noticed skin results in just 14 days of using the Beauty Boosters supplements. Sally emphasised the importance of nutrition in skin health.
In order to give a true test myself, I will do my own 2 week challenge and report back here on the results, so watch this space.
Nutrition is vital for skin care
I am pretty happy with my skin at the moment. I don’t drink regularly, I stay out of the sun and I really take care of my skin with quality skin care. My father also had skin cancer starting at 27, so I was slathered in sunscreen from a young age, and only a bit of sun damage. It could be a lot worse and I see it in the faces of women my age who love the sun.
I am always trying out new skin care and am pretty scrupulous about my skin care regime. I was taught from a very early age the look after my skin (it was the old “cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day” mantra). But, there is only some much we can do topically. My Mature Skin Concerns
My main skin issues are those of a 40+ woman: fine lines, some sagging around the jowls, forehead lines and frown lines that Botox could easily fix, but I am giving my skin and health a rest from injectables. Being I am on immuno-suppressant medication for my psoriatic arthritis, I have doctor’s orders not to have injections as might compromise my health. I do get tiny patches of psoriasis from time to time, so I am wondering if the Beauty Boosters products can help with reducing that.
From what I can read in the press pack, BeautyBoosters will help firm my skin, reduce the size of my pores, and help with fine lines and wrinkles under my eyes, forehead and frown lines.
