Having a fully stocked makeup kit is vital makeup artists and in order to build a kit that never lets you down, I go through a lot of different products. My reasons to select a product in my kit include the following:
L’Oreal True Match Foundation

I have tried so many foundations in my beauty travels and used to have very sensitive skin, so have always opted for expensive foundations, because they are going to be better right? Let me tell you that is a definit NO! By Far, hands down, I always go back to the loveliest foundation that I can actual find in my own colour.
I’ve sampled most high-end and “boutique” foundations (La Prairie, Chanel, Dior, Shiseido, Estee Lauder, Stila, Too Faced, Nars) and I have found a foundation that leaves is good but mainly better that these expensive face paints. Sure they are luxurious in packaging and if money is no object I’m not saying don’t buy high-end product, but don’t think it is you own option for beautiful looking skin.

The finish of L’Oreal True Match can be luminous or matte, depending how you apply it or powder it down. The coverage is medium but if you want full coverage you can build it. I love working with this foundation and love the feel of it on my skin. The colours selection is easily to pick from, with shades that match skin easily. My biggest issue with so many of the “boutique” or artist brands are their foundations seem too yellow, especially for European skin.
The range of colours for L’Oreal True Match makes it easy to choose your shade. L’Oreal name their shades to make matching easy. There is number to match your colour lightness/darkness and then a letter W (warm) N (Neutral) and C (Cool). I’m an N2 Vanilla but with a fake tan I am a N3 or W3, depending on the tan result.
The finish of True Match is soft and fresh and never looks heavy or over done. The coverage is medium, but you can build it, which means you can put extra where you need it (to cover redness on the nose for example). The bottles are glass which is a bummer for carrying around, but the product is so well priced and is as good as foundations with heftier price tags. True Match is normally $30 but is often on sale. Currently it is only $20.96 at Priceline.
PROP TIP: Using the back of you hand mix a little luminiser through the True Match, with a foundation brush and apply to the face for a glowing look. You can then go in and accentuate further the bits of your face you want to “sit up”. This includes cupid’s bow, cheek bone, brown bone, bridge of nose, edges of the jaw. I always to my creates and liquids first (foundation, cream luminiser, contour/highlight stick) and then powder it down (not baking it – that just makes a girl look old IMHO). I then apply the powders such as illuminating powder, contour colour under the cheek bone and under the jawline to hide a double chin.If you apply creams over poder your get a caky texture. This multilayered effect means that as the foundation settles the cream liminisers shine through softly.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles
[maxbutton id=”1″ url=”https://www.priceline.com.au/maybelline-instant-age-rewind-eraser-dark-circles-t-6-ml” text=”Buy Now!” ]
At $18.95, this product is a bargain and more often than not you can find it on sale. Despite the lack of shade variation, the formulation really melts into the skin, and is the perfect colour base to minimise dark circles. I also use it an the other areas of the face that need some extra coverage. It has an elastic coverage, I’m not quite sure which if the ingredients create this, but when you have older skin and you wear ordinary concealer is looks dry and exaggerates the lines under the eyes.
This particular product stretches with the skin and the imperceptible light reflective particles brighten the under eye area. I do which they’d offer a wider range of colours, but for my needs I use this most of the time. If I have a darker client I will use concealer from a deeper toned palette I have. I also don’t apply directly to the eye. I know it’s tempting, but you just wind up enough product and then roll the applicator onto a palette or the back of your hand, so the applicator doesn’t get bacteria on it.

L’oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara in Black
This mascara truly packs a powerfully pigmented punch. It is very very black, and the short comb style wand is perfect for women with short lashes, struggling to coat their lashes without getting “those dots” (top and bottom). It allows for lash by lash application. I find this most useful when I am wearing false lashes over the top, as there is not clumps and the lashes and flasie’s blend effortlessly.

Models’ Own Vintage Rose Eyeshadow Palette
If you are looking for a high pigment, low cost rose inspired eyeshadow palette, then this will knock your socks off. The RRP is normally $29 but at the time of publishing it was $19 from Priceline. This palette with create most of this year’s most popular looks.
The pigment is great, it blends easily, and importantly suits a variety of skin shades.

Rimmel Kate Sculpting Palette
There are so many of these types of palettes out there that I have tried to find you the best contour/blush/highlighter palette at the best. While Kate Moss is the face, the reason I nominated this one for a favourite is that it suits my pale completion and there’s also one for deeper skin tones.
The highlighter isn’t blinding, but it is enough to impart a subtle glow. The middle contour colour deepens beautifully without too much shimmer, and lastly, the blush is the perfect peach for my skin tone. Currently on sale for $12.51 at Priceline.
