Although many people refuse to believe it, we really all do each have the power to change our lives for the better if we don’t like them. Changing your life may seem like one huge task, but all it really is, is a series of small tasks that you make a habit of. We all have the right to live enjoyable, meaningful lives, and if that’s not what’s happening it’s usually down to use.
Below are 6 unusual things you can try doing that might change your life. Try them and see what happens!
1. Have A Conversation With Your Future Self
This takes a little visualisation and creativity, but it can help you to take action and change your life for the better sooner than you think. Sit down in your favorite chair and make yourself comfortable. Now, start having a conversation with your future self. Imagine you’re sitting across from you (the future you), or you’re in a totally different space/room. Ask them all the questions you have for them and see what they fire back. Don’t let your mind get in the way of the answers your future self gives you. Have a notebook on hand so you can write down the things they say!
2. Realise Your Own Limitations
We all have limitations, but a lot of the time, that’s all they are; limitations. There’s nothing that actually says we can’t or shouldn’t do something. By examining yourself and realizing what your own limitations are, you should be able to work past them.
3. Examine Your Relationships With Everything
Examine your relationships with everything, both good and bad, and get a feel for why somethings are the way they are. Pick a subject, like money, or relationships with your friends. Now, write down ‘money to me is…’ and anything that comes into your mind. If you have written down negative things about money, it’s likely you will have trouble getting it!
4. Act Like You Have Everything You Could Possibly Want
Instead of wishing you had everything that you want, start acting like you do already. This might seem strange, but it’ll help you to get into the mindset of the person that has everything they want. Walk tall, wear different clothes, use a mighty vaporizer – do what you have to do to become the person you want to be. Eventually, you will get to where you want to be.
5. Spend More Time Doing Creative Things
People say they want to be creative and end up spending a lot of time in front of the TV. Set time aside each day to be creative, whether you’re drawing a picture or writing a quick haiku.
6. Do Things That Scare You
Do something that scares you every day, no matter how small. It’ll increase your confidence tenfold! Jump off the diving board in the pool. Speak to your crush in the supermarket queue. Do something – anything!
