This is Paris Fashion week, Hainan Airlines unveiled a new collection of couture inspired airline uniforms.
The stunning collection was designed by Laurence Xu and is inspired by traditional Chinese formalwear – the timeless and flattering Cheongsam. The uniform dresses feature a low, scooped hemline with prints of nature in a delightfully fresh blue and white pattern.
Coupled with the Cheongsam are 1940’s/1950’s western style fitted jackets which pulls the look together in a perfect fusion of east meets west. Elegant and polished, the look retains cultural relevancy.
Designer Laurence Xu is known for maintaining a modern aesthetic while presenting designs that reflect his cultural heritage.
Xu has been showing his work at Paris Fashion Week since 2003.
According to Hainan Airlines PR, the sophisticated design process took two years to complete.
I was so impressed by the fresh thinking of the airline. Flight crews are known for exuding glamour, and this collection takes that to an entirely new level.
