Rose gold even sounds pretty. Who wouldn’t like it? Pink tinted gold. For me, it suits my skin tone more than yellow gold or silver. It is a colour that sits between fashion and luxury, going in and out of fashion, and right now it is in. I put the responsibility for it’s being in fashion squarely on the shoulders of the Apple marketing team. First came the $15K rose gold Apple Watch, then came the iPhone 6s (which I own and love). What Is Rose Gold?
The phrase “rose gold” refers to an alloy of gold where some copper has been added. In the latest resurgence of popularity, fine jewellers, such as Piaget and Van Cleef & Arpels, reinvented the shade. Rose gold:
“is more discreet than yellow or white gold, brings warmth to the creation and marries well with colored stones,” Claire Choisne, the designer for the French jewelry house Boucheron.
