Protecting Your Business: A Guide To Affordable Security Solutions In The Modern Area

Security solutions don’t need to break the bank. They’ll always be an investment, but you can keep the costs under control.

In today’s hyperdigital, AI powered, and future-thinking world, the idea that you’ll have to fork out hundreds of thousands to get a proper security system in place is a nightmare.

But many business owners have to face down the barrel of this gun, and try to navigate ever increasing security prices while operating with a small business budget. It just feels like it’s getting harder and harder to keep your business safe

However, there are still quite a few ways you can protect your business premises, inventory, and on site assets at an affordable cost. You just need to know what security measures to look into. Here’s a few that are worth thinking about.

CCTV Cameras are Always Worth it

Having CCTV in and around your business can pose a hefty upfront cost, but these cameras really are your eyes and ears when you can’t be there in person.

They’ll keep you in the loop of what’s going on (whether it’s an employee, customer, or faceless intruder you need to investigate), and will provide a wealth of evidence in the form of video recordings that can be checked at any time you need.

To keep costs low, however, make sure you’re placing your CCTV cameras in the right spots. Above all, you’ll want to get as wide a view as possible to try and stamp down on any blind spots.

This might also mean you need more than one camera in the same room or pointing toward the same area, so keep that in mind.

Use a Restricted Key System

On top of having CCTV cameras, you’ll also want to think about the way people can actually get in and out. And that’s where a bit of access control comes in.

You might not have the funds for a full access control suite, but you can still maintain full control over your doors and windows with a set of restricted keys.

Find a commercial locksmith, ask them to set up a restricted key system for you, and you’ll walk away with a set of keys that can’t be copied without your say so.

You’ll also get door locks designed to a set of protected specifications, so no one can get the same lock from a DIY store and use the key that comes with it to enter your premises.

An Alarm is Crucial

If forced entry does occur, you’ll want to know about it ASAP. You’ll also want law enforcement to know about it ASAP! An alarm system will have both these signals covered.

Your alarm system can also include sensors on window locks, to monitor any attempted intrusions via less traditional access points.

That does come at an extra cost, but it’s worth considering if your business’ building has a lot of windows, or has larger windows that a person can easily fit through.

Security solutions don’t need to break the bank. They’ll always be an investment, but you can keep the costs under control.
