If you’re thinking about going travelling soon, and you’ve never experienced doing this before – congratulations! This is a huge step. Sure, many people travel every second of their lives, but there are also a lot of people that have always dreamed of doing this, but have been the one to hold themselves back. It’s very easy to say you don’t have time due to current responsibilities like work, studying, or family life. But the truth is, there will never be a ‘right time’. That doesn’t exist. The only right time out there, is when you make it yourself. People find excuses because they’re afraid. Travelling can be very intimidating for some people, the idea of going to a foreign country where you don’t speak the language and aren’t familiar with the area. But that is also what so many people love – the unknown. It’s what adds to the excitement of it all. So if you’ve finally decided that now is the time, and you’re ready to take the leap – well done.
There are many things that you must cross off your to-do list while you’re away. Here a few to get you started.
Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu is high up in the Andes mountains in Peru. It is a historical place that has to be seen to truly be appreciated. It is most famous for its sophisticated dry-stone walls that have bound enormous rocks, but without the use of mortar like so many other environments. These intriguing buildings that give off the most astounding panoramic views are not to be missed, so book your Machu Picchu tours if you’re heading to Peru anytime soon.
The Great Wall
If you’re planning on visiting China, then you absolutely have to walk The Great Wall, it’d be a crime not to. Having said that, you won’t be able to walk it in a day, it would in fact take 18 months to walk – that’s how long it is, a whopping 5,000 miles. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take a decent number of selfies on it. Because the place has become such a tourist attraction, there are even activities that you can do while you’re there, hiking being the obvious choice, but you even have the chance to go paragliding.
Great Barrier Reef
Australia is an amazing country with so much life there, on land, and in the ocean. One stunning place to visit is the Great Barrier Reef. That’s home to some of the most incredible marine life that you could ever see, as well as coral that comes in all different colours you didn’t even know existed. But act fast if you want to see it, as with time, the place is sadly deteriorating, so don’t wait too much longer otherwise it may not be there anymore.
Now you have a few ideas, carry on making a list until you have tonnes of things to see and do. That will be motivation enough to get you hitting the road, or the sky, or the ocean.
