There’s nothing worse than when you’re about to go out and have a good time, but you just don’t have anything to wear. You know you have clothes, but for some reason, finding an outfit and putting it together is proving to be way harder than it should be.
We’ve all had these moments, and it’s usually worse when you’re running late. Here are a few tips to hopefully make it easier to create an outfit so you can get out there and enjoy yourself.
Declutter Your Wardrobe
Sometimes the problem is that you’ve got too many clothes. Then you end up wearing the same thing anyway.
In this case, it’s a good idea to declutter your wardrobe. Take a day or a weekend to sort through your clothes. You should make three piles.
First, pick out the clothes you wear all the time and definitely want to keep. There’s no need to get rid of those.
Second, pick out the clothes that don’t fit, that are damaged, or that you just don’t like and never wear. Damaged clothes that can’t be repaired should be chucked out. Otherwise, you can sell your other clothes.
Finally, pick out the clothes that you like but don’t often wear for whatever reason. If it’s because they’re for special occasions, so be it. If it’s just because you wear other clothes instead, try integrating them into your wardrobe for a few months. If you still don’t wear them, sell them.
Buying More Clothes
It seems counterintuitive after clearing out your wardrobe, but it’s also a good idea to make sure you’re stocked up on the basics. Clothes wear out over time and look shabby, so always look for quality clothes that look good.
Consider different online brands, such as loewe clothing that will last for years. Shop for deals and try to think about how different pieces of clothing work together.
Building Your Basics
If you want to have a limited wardrobe, it’s a good idea to have a collection of basics that you can quickly turn into an outfit. Think about how you can swap and change different items around to create multiple outfits from a few clothes.
This way, you already have an outfit pretty much ready.
Organization Skills
Sometimes the trick is to just be more organized. Make it easy to find your clothes so you can see what you have to wear in moments. This saves you from having to dig through wardrobes and drawers.
If you know you’re going out, pick out a few outfits in advance. This still gives you options, but you won’t be paralyzed by indecision.
