Hamptons Meets French Provincial

Today I went to my first property inspection as part of the Diploma of Property I am studying. I deliberately chose the upper end of the market, 13 Hill Street, Queencliff on the Northern Beaches. As a graphic and web designer of 20+ years I’d rather market properties like these, since I am so aesthetically driven.

After my magical mystery tour of Queenscliff in my car that was probably worth less than the ornament to the left of the BBQ, I found, in an cluster of wonderfully opulent, yet stylish homes, the delightful target of my inspection, perched up on the cliff overlooking Freshwater.

I was greeted by Michael Clarke of clarkeandhumel.com.au a handsome and charismatic agent and walked around with my jaw on the floor for the first few rooms. Once recovered from the beauty of this home, I noted the impeccable taste and wonderfully executed decor. It was beautifully styled, with the Hamptons’ coastal theme done well, no frangipani paintings anywhere.

The carpet was exceptionally plush, I wanted to do carpet angels in the hallway and crawl into the OCD made bed. I was hoping to move in immediately but my completely inexperienced estimate, based upon comparable sales in the area, the $5 million I needed is a little out of my reach currently (even with the savings of not needing gym membership of $50, as the home has a small gym).

The pool sparkled in the sun and the backyard was an easy care, native landscaped garden with a delightful entertaining deck. I forgot my swimmers, which was probably a good thing, might have frightened off the potential buyers.

As far as luxurious living goes this home has it all. It is tasteful, considered and is carefully designed with an inclinator for the mobility challenged. The garage houses four cars, a rarity in this area. For more information visit here: domain.com.au

I managed to get all the information I needed for my assignment, including observing a clever agent in action. I’ll definitely be at the auction. This exclusive and unique home will go under the hammer at 2pm on Saturday 11th June 2016 through clarkeandhumel.com.au
