With 3 200 hours of sunshine every year and the enviable title of being the sunniest major Australian city, it’s no wonder that Perth is the best place to have an outdoor wedding!
Its brilliant blue skies, pearly beaches, crystal seas, lush rolling parklands and some of the most unique and beautiful outdoor venues in the world make Perth the dream destination for an al fresco wedding celebration.
From a traditional affair in an olde world gazebo at Sandringham Promenade Reserve in Canningvale, an elegant occasion in the manicured gardens of the heritage Bishops House in the CBD to relaxed nuptials on the lawns of City Beach, there is an amazing range of unique and beautiful venues in Perth to suit everyone’s taste and budget.
Here are some of our favourites:
Quarry Amphitheatre, City Beach
This is one of the most picturesque wedding venues in Perth and is guaranteed to leave your guests in awe. Its unique bushland setting with soaring limestone cliffs, magnificent views across the treetops to the city skyline and manicured lawn terraces make it a venue in a million. Day or night, this is a truly magical wedding venue.

Perth Zoo
Taking your wedding vows with a lion roaring in the background would surely rank as one of life’s unforgettable moments? Well, the sounds of the wild are just one of the special extras you get if you have your outdoor wedding at Perth Zoo. This unique venue offers a number of different ceremony locations including the raised terrace of the Oak Lawn, intimate surrounds of the traditional Japanese garden and rockpool and the shady Elephant Amphitheatre – with a special ‘zebra car’ for transporting the bridal party included in each wedding package.
Bishop’s House
This charming building dating back to the 1850s is housed in one of Perth’s last remaining privately owned and managed heritage-listed gardens, which provide a beautiful backdrop for elegant outdoor wedding celebrations. Couples can choose from a range of options from cocktail events for 200 to intimate celebrations, all set in the tranquil gardens with gorgeous views across the city highrises and towards King’s Park.
Monument Hill
This is Fremantle’s highest point and offers spectacular views across the port city, the Swan River and the Indian Ocean to Rottnest Island. Wedding ceremonies can be held in the parklike surrounds of the Anzac war monument, with convenient public parking and easy access.

The Bell Tower
Why is the Bell Tower such a highly sought-after venue for outdoor weddings in Perth? Is it the peal of centuries-old brass bells chiming across the Swan River and across Elizabeth Quay to mark the special moment? Or is because the riverside setting, spectacular city skyline and iconic King’s Park make the most dramatic and memorable backdrop? Maybe it’s because couples love sealing their commitment with a specially inscribed padlock on the Bell Tower’s special ‘love lock’ chain? Or because the professional and highly skilled event staff are on hand to make sure every detail is attended to?
It’s all this and more – but it’s not only couples in love who choose the Bell Tower for their special celebration, people come from all over the world to see this iconic building with its fascinating history.
