There’s nothing more satisfying in the Autumn preparing for the cosy nights in, than decluttering and cleaning your home. It leaves the space feeling fresh, bright and new for the winter months. If you want to up your game this year and make things a little easier for yourself there are some amazing things you can do.
Hire a skip
The first hack for tor spring cleaning is to hire a skip. You can find the best price for your skip hire online and get one delivered to your front door for the weekend. The reason this is a great hack is because it will encourage you to throw more items away than you might have before. Knowing that you have the space to throw your old chair or cabinet will make you want to throw it away and add more space back into your home.
A lazy Susan
A lazy Susan isn’t only a fun way to decorate your family dinner table; it can also be used to make your home more organised after a spring clean. For example you could arrange your cupboard and place things on the lazy Susan for easier access when you need it. You could also pop one in the fridge so that you can reach your items much easier and prevent yourself from spillages.
Microwave clean
The microwave is one of the most mucky parts of the kitchen, and it can become pretty disgusting if people don’t use a lid when they heat up food. If you want a super quick way to rid the microwave of grease and food stains: simply cut a lemon in half, place it in the microwave and heat at full power for 1 minute. After this minute you should easily be able to wipe away the muck for a fresh appliance!
Unblock your drains
If you ever notice that the sink in our kitchen takes a while to empty, it is likely because it is blocked with grease. To unblock it effectively you simply need some boiling water, baking powder and white vinegar. Start off by pouring 1 cup of boiling water down the sink to loosen the grease. Once you have done this, add half a cup of baking powder to the sink and leave it for a minute to sink in. Meanwhile, make a mixture of half a cup of vinegar with half a cup of building water. Pour this down the drain, quickly replace the plug and leave for 10 minutes to react. Once done, pour some more boiling water in and voila!
Clean your windows
In a cloudy day, take the opportunity to go outside and clean all of your windows. You can make a simple window cleaning solution with 1 part vinegar and 1 part water. Pop this into a spray bottle and make things easier for yourself as you clean the area. For any mould which may be on the frames; simple spray in some mould and mildew, leave for 10 minutes and wipe it away!
