The concept of digital nomad entrepreneurs is not a novelty. However, for a lot of professionals who have been hit by the pandemic and forced to stay at home, the desire for freedom is getting uncontrollable

I don’t want a dull workplace. I want to work from anywhere. I want to carry on travelling the world while working.

Does that sound familiar?

The concept of digital nomad entrepreneurs is not a novelty. However, for a lot of professionals who have been hit by the pandemic and forced to stay at home, the desire for freedom is getting uncontrollable. Unfortunately, the digital nomad dream is not sustainable in a pandemic world. The risks are too high, for from a health and profit perspective. A lot of freelancers have found themselves stuck in remote locations with no option of heading back home to their relatives during the crisis. Additionally, for many digital nomads, business has been slow since the start of the pandemic. In short, now’s not the right time to head into the wild world!

While it doesn’t mean you should give up on your nomadic venture, you can explore new ways of pushing your boundaries in the meantime. One day will come when it is safe to work from anywhere again. But for now, let’s discover how to embrace your thirst for freedom safely.

Create a brand that looks and feels true

The most challenging part of being a digital nomad is to share a consistent message about your brand, wherever you are. Even if you are not on the road right now, you can start experimenting with branding strategies to make sure your audience gets the right idea. An online platform is an excellent starting point, as it’s something that will be accessible at a global level. Keeping a consistent tone of voice and branding visual will make a huge difference.

Consider short-term travel plans

While you can’t pack your laptop and jump on the next plane to start your business on the go, it doesn’t mean you can’t try working remotely. Why not pack your caravan and give yourself a week trial on the road? You only need to head to the caravan and camper trailer storage to retrieve it! Working from a camping van or caravan allows you to pick different safe locations in your area. You can spend a week away from home. It’s a fantastic opportunity to test your abilities for a digital nomadic lifestyle. You may discover that it’s not the right thing for you or that you love it.

Is your mind stopping you from being free?

The sensation of freedom is the result of your physical and mental limitations. Do you feel stuck because you hate the idea of seeing the same work environment every day? Or do you feel burdened by anxiety that stops you from living your life to the fullest? Anxiety and stress are unlikely to disappear, even if you change your location. Therefore, a digital enterprise isn’t going to make you feel better. Instead, you may want to consider how meditation can help you get back in control of your mind. It is a powerful relief for anxiety, depression and even addiction disorders.

In conclusion, you can’t ignore your inner voice. But the talks of freedom may not be actionable at the moment. Becoming a digital nomad is not a safe position in a post-pandemic world. However, you can seize the opportunity to experiment with digital branding, remote work plans, and mental focus safely. It’s a fantastic chance to build a platform for growth that focuses on your real needs.
