A few years ago, I designed a label and branding for a wonderful new product called Boob Glue. During the process of creating the character, Percy & Reed got in contact as they felt our concepts were too close to their design. To keep the peace, we redid the illustration to solve the issue. The interesting thing now, is the Percy & Reed have dressed their newer “girls” in red illustrated corsets, which was a signature element of the Bosom Couture/Boob Glue® as well as referencing Miss Bloom images by Neryl Walker for Bloom Cosmetics from 2000 and inwards. They have also swapped the side of their girl, so she is now on the left in several products, which was where our girl began.
Designers all get inspiration from somewhere, it doesn’t just erupt in a creative force in the brain. The mind gathers ideas and calls upon these when needed.
That said, all the brands mentioned here have beautiful products, great packaging and a fun, authentic ethos.
