Welcome back to another innovative makeup product review: Pressplay Cosmetics. This is a very special product. The Pressplay Capsule is a beautiful looking cosmetics system that offers product to take on the go. If a Swiss army knife and a makeup bag had a lovechild this would be the result. It takes up virtually no space in your bag, and you can buy a wide range of makeup and other products such are:
Makeup: foundation, concealer, highlighter, blush, powder, lips, eyeliner, mascara, brows
Skin Care: face care, sun care, hand cream, and even hand sanitizer.
Fragrance: coming soon…
While this is perfect for the jetsetter, this capsule is great for work, school and going out.
All you need to do is select your makeup and skincare for the day, load it into your Capsule, and Press Play on your day.
The packaging for this super stunning product comes in a big white logo with the gold foil logo. It had me so excited when I started to open it. It was so pretty at every level. This level presentation is off the chart beautiful…luxurious, polish and glamorous.
The capsules are stored in these felt/velour type wallets to protect their ultra-shiny surfaces from scratching. You also don’t want to break your highlighter or powder pans if you drop the Pressplay capsule.
As I opened each level, it became more and most thrilling, kind of like pass the parcel when you were a kid but you were the only kid, not sure if that make sense. Anyway the opening was an incredible experience on it’s own. I highly recommend that you check it out.
Products and First Impression Review
This foundation is very matte and you need to blend fast before it dries. The Pressplay liquid foundation is also buildable to a high level of coverage depending on your preference. I did find I needed to wait a few seconds before pumping it out and the pump will never give you too much, so it will last a long time. The shade is a teensy bit light for me, but it’s still OK. I just have to apply a pore reducing primer so the lighter colour doesn’t settle in pores.
While is am still faithful to my regular foundation, this is coming every where with me for travel and touch ups through the day.
I used this as a lip paint and it was lovely. Very matte and velvelty.
This colour is absolute heaven. If you love peach as much as I do you will adore the matte lip formula. You could also use this as a blush, but these products are heavily pigmented, so a little goes a long way.
Super pigmented Frencesco is bold and unapologetically red. I used the tiniest dot on the back of my hand and it was more than enough for a cheek flush. I need to ensure I use less next time.
I found the sponge very handy while I was out blotting oil on my nose and cheeks, but at home a small fluffy brush would do better.
I love this highlighter. I love all highlighters! I dread highlighted from going out of fashion. But right now glitter, highlighters and sparkly make up are right “in”. Speaking of “in” this highlighter fits in the lower compartment so you can glow at any given time.
I think trying these products as cosmetics from a professional makeup artist perspective they are going to be handy for women who don’t apply a tonne of makeup everyday, because it’s great for a natural look. My favourite product was probably this one because it was so natural.
This mascara has a traditional tapered wand, and it is a non-clumpy formulation. I needed 2 – 3 coats, but I like thick lashes, as my natural lashes are blonde and sparse. It’s not a heavy mascara, but perfect for on-the-go-touch ups.
This generous 3 tube pack, like the foundation, means you won’t run out in a hurry. You’ll find yourself applying this all day with the ‘no nasties’ formulation and you hands will thank you for it.
Lastly, the hand sanitizer will help keep you germ-free. For me, being immuno-suppressed this is a god send.
I want to keep my white Pressplay capsule shiny and white, so I’ll be using the black Pressplay capsule for makeup and the white version for skin care. There is a frangrance on the horizon, so cannot wait for that.I have the team up with existing fragrances, so I can have my Mon Guerlain on the go.
Overall, I love the product. It’s a brilliant idea, excellently executed. That’s a 5 star from me.
